Our History

Founded in 2011, Avenues was created as an innovative solution for adults who want to age in their own home. There is a shift and change happening in how older adults are wanting to age. 92% of older adults in the United States have expressed a desire to age in the comfort of their own home. Avenues was designed for adults who are reasonably healthy and currently independent as a way to financially secure their future and as a way to age at home.

Building on a foundation of serving older adults since 1906, Brio Living Services (formerly United Methodist Retirement Communities and Porter Hills) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization whose mission is: Welcoming all, partnering together, enriching lives.

The Avenues program perfectly aligns with Brio’s vision of a world in which all are empowered to age well.
